PROCESS & SCHEDULE

PROCESS

Our process engages your patients, families, staff, physicians, leadership and other key stakeholders in meaningful ways while being respectful of time commitments.  Our planning team will be on-site, during which time we will be working "real-time" with your teams.  We will encourage the following types of interactions:

  • Leadership Summits

  • Observation and Shadowing

  • Stakeholder and User Dialogues

  • Patient and Family Engagement

  • Lean 3P Workshops

Our Lean Workshops integrate operational and facilities' improvement, while also allowing NBBJ to better understand our clients' culture.  Process improvement methods are used to improve care delivery in 3 main ways:

  • Change Management

  • Operational Improvement

  • Facility Design

SCHEDULE

NBBJ will be working with the your Team for 4-5 months according to the schedule outlined below.  During that time, we will be listening and capturing the needs highlighted in the Lean Workshops to create out project deliverables.  NBBJ's role as the Planner for this project is to ensure that the Users get what they need in the new building to be efficient, maximize productivity, and are able to provide the highest quality of care.

The schedule highlights phases and tasks that must happen in order for NBBJ to provide:

  • A space program (line-item list of rooms and spaces that are a direct result of these discussions);

  • A functional program (written document that justifies the rooms and spaces defined in the program);

  • Workflow diagrams and operational assumptions;

  • A test-to-fit floorplan layout (including critical adjacencies for high-performance throughput and building efficiency).
